Italian Ceramics

April 29th, 2011

In Italy, local artists make wonderful ceramic pots, masks and ornaments. They have to be seen to enjoy the detail and hard-work that’s gone into each one. Hours can be spend spinning and detailing every individual piece, then the ceramic paint that has to be applied to each one is just astounding.

Some of my favourite pieces are the Italian ceramic plates and bowls. They remind me of a little bit of the 80s when these things were popular. But now they’re coming back in, and everyone is getting in on a little bit of Italian ceramics and history and enjoying the great amount of work that went into each one.
