Heritage Press, 1968

The bule and gray cloth binding is nice, but not spectacular
| Heritage Press, 1968. This two volume set
is bound in blue and grey cloth. The covers are plain with absolutely nothing printed on
either side. The spines have guilded titles. Like several other editions from 1968,
this one contains an introduction by Henry Steele Commager, and is exquisitly illustrated
b y John Groth, with twenty-one plates in color. |

The slip cases are not particularly well made,
and are highly subject to fading from exposure to the sun. To exacerbate the problem,
the Heritage edition is a tall set, so typically it is only the top inch or two of the
slip cases that become faded. Unfortunately, that makes the fading even more noticeable
than if the fading were uniform. |
