to GWTWbooks.com, the web site dedicated to collecting the best-selling novel by Margaret
Mitchell. The enormous popularity of Gone With the Wind has resulted in its being
reprinted in an incredible variety of editions. It is the extent of its variety that makes
collecting Gone With the Wind so challenging and enjoyable. The purpose of this web site is to be a showcase and a
resource for GWTW collectors. As an "active" web site, it will be perpetually
"under construction" as new photos and features are added. The first order of
business will be to replace the fuzzy photos with crisp, attractive images. Most of the
new digital images have already been created. It will take time to properly prepare them
for the web, but it is an effort that is already in the works.
All GWTW collectors are invited to contribute to this
effort in any of the following ways:
- Bring inaccuracies to our attention. Accuracy is a top
priority. Even the slightest inaccuracy should be brought to our attention.
- Provide photos and descriptions of editions that are
not represented. Contributors will be clearly cited and credited for their contributions
of content.
- Contribute descriptive information of any of the
editions that are pictured. Please send us descriptive text to accompany any of the
existing photos on this site. Doing so will add variety to the text, and will help us
avoid the monotony of a single voice droning on and on.
- Actively participate in the discussion forum(s) when
they come on-line in the near future. Look for these interactive features within the
coming few weeks.
