Front and spine of dust jacket

This edition was released in Great Britain to coincide with the release of the motion picture. Its nickname - “The Cheap Edition" comes from the wording on the copyright page:

The inside front flap of the dust jacket states the same in more flattering verbiage:

To mark the phenomenal success of the film of “GONE WITH THE WIND” Macmillan & Co. present, in a new edition at a greatly reduced price, Margaret Mitchell's world-famous novel.

The first printing of this edition was in October of 1940, and it was reprinted in November, 1940 and June, 1941.

The blue cloth binding is not particularly remarkable, but despite its “cheap” price, the attractive dust jacket makes it a delightful copy to own, and not easy to find.
